So today the podcast of the Penelope Leach lecture has finally gone live on the college website http://www.newn.cam.ac.uk/after-newnham/keeping-in-touch/local-groups-and-year-reps/content/newnhamroll-mums
The response already has been amazing, with many of you getting in touch to let us know how pleased you are that Newnham has set up a group exclusively for Newnhamite mothers and also how pleased you are that you are able to access talks from and information about this group online and through social media.
We are very keen to start a debate around topics relevant to modern mothers and would be delighted if you would like to participate in this throught the comments section on this blog.
We are looking at using other forms of social media aswell such as facebook and will make sure that we keep you updated as soon as these developments go live!
In the meantime here in the Wilson household we are deep in preparations for Christmas....our eldest, Connie 4, has just started reception, so we are in at the deepend with Christmas this year with a complicated list of parties, nativity plays, schools discos and christmas lunches that need to be attended and prepared for!...meaning that whilst I have been very eagerly responding to you all this evening I have also been elbow deep in mince pie baking!
It would be wonderful to hear from you all - let us know what other Newnhamite families are doing in the run up to the festive season! - If you work, as I do, how do you juggle the increasing demands there are on your time at this time of year with all of these festive excitements, how do you help your children to prepare for this special season, and what modern traditions have you developed for your family to help celebrate this magical time of year?
